We have received good reports. A lot of state governments and government departments extended full support, and we were able to conduct the exam with full security as well as convenience for the students,” he told ANI.No complaints of paper leak so farResponding to questions about possible irregularities, Singh told ANI that NTA had not received any complaints or emails regarding a question paper leak.”Not so far. But NTA is working aggressively in order to ensure the integrity of the process. We are 100 per cent confident. We are 100 per cent confident about the whole process this time,” he said.He added that the agency had taken extensive measures to safeguard the examination process and expressed full confidence in the security framework put in place for the re-examination.Results to be declared soonOn the declaration of results, Singh said the evaluation process would begin shortly and that candidates could expect the results sooner than usual.”As soon as possible. Let us start the evaluation process, then we will give a date. See, we conducted the exam in 37 days. We compressed the entire exam cycle. So the results will also be announced faster than what one would expect,” Singh said.More than 20 lakh candidates took the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination on June 21 at 5,440 centres across India and 14 centres abroad. Technical discussions between the two sides remain underway, with another round of meetings expected next week, sources said.On child sexual abuse material (CSAM), government sources told ANI that there is zero tolerance and zero compromise.Officials said allowing such material to remain on Meta’s platforms would amount to a serious violation of rules. They said the company needs to adopt stronger and more proactive measures, with concrete action expected instead of assurances.The issue was also raised during earlier meetings between Meta’s global team and government officials, amid wider concerns over the company’s content moderation systems.The government has also raised concerns over deepfakes involving prominent personalities.ANI sources said content posted from authorised or verified handles should not be incorrectly identified as deepfakes. Supriya Sule backs Prashant Kishor, says Sunetra Pawar-led NCP’s choice is ‘internal matter’ NEW DELHI: NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule on Saturday said whether the Sunetra Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party wanted to work with political strategist Prashant Kishor was an “internal matter” of the rival faction.Sule said Kishor had been her friend for several years and praised his recent electoral performance in Bihar. “Prashant Kishor has been a good personal friend of mine for several years. Supriya Sule backs Prashant Kishor, says Sunetra Pawar-led NCP’s choice is ‘internal matter’ NEW DELHI: NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule on Saturday said whether the Sunetra Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party wanted to work with political strategist Prashant Kishor was an “internal matter” of the rival faction.Sule said Kishor had been her friend for several years and praised his recent electoral performance in Bihar. “Prashant Kishor has been a good personal friend of mine for several years. I have closely followed his work and I have never hidden our friendship,” the Baramati MP told reporters.She said Kishor worked independently in his professional capacity and that it was his decision to choose whom he wanted to work with.”Whether the Sunetra Pawar-led NCP wants to work with Prashant Kishor or not is their internal matter,” Sule said.Her remarks came days after Kishor met Nationalist Congress Party chief and Maharashtra deputy chief minister Sunetra Pawar and her son, MP Parth Pawar.Sule also praised Kishor for his political work in Bihar, saying he had won a “very big battle” in Bankipur despite facing the BJP’s formidable political machinery. The events were organised as part of the broader ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, with participants paying tribute to freedom fighters and promoting the message of national unity and patriotism.From Lucknow and Kharagpur to Narnaul, the marches brought together political leaders, students, young people and citizens. Participants carried the national flag and raised patriotic slogans as part of events planned in the run-up to Independence Day.The celebrations are also being linked to the commemoration of 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’, with activities planned across states during the campaign period.Yatras held across statesIn Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in a Tiranga Yatra organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party. The march began from the chief minister’s residence at 5, Kalidas Marg and proceeded towards the Vidhan Bhavan.Thousands of young people participated in the procession, carrying the Tricolour and raising slogans including “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”.Adityanath said the yatra was an expression of gratitude towards freedom fighters and martyrs and urged participants to maintain discipline during the march.”This Tiranga Yatra is an expression of gratitude towards all those martyrs and a resolve to carry forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of ‘nation first’,” he said.He also urged people to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and hoist the national flag at their homes with due respect.In Kharagpur, West Bengal minister Dilip Ghosh participated in another Tiranga Yatra and said similar programmes would be organised across the state.”The Tiranga Yatra is being held across Bengal, with the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign taking the national flag to every household… The programme has started today and will be held in other districts as well. A major event will take place in Kolkata on the 10th, with thousands of people expected to participate,” Ghosh said.The West Bengal government has announced plans to distribute 70 lakh national flags across the state as part of the campaign. A major Tiranga rally is also scheduled in Kolkata on August 10.Haryana combines Tiranga campaign with fitness driveIn Haryana’s Narnaul, chief minister Nayab Singh Saini flagged off a state-level half marathon organised under the ‘Haryana Uday Abhiyan’ with the theme “Har Ghar Tiranga”.The event combined the Independence Day campaign with a message on fitness and the need to tackle drug abuse among young people.”Carrying this vision forward, we have taken the message of a drug-free Haryana to the masses through the ‘Haryana Uday’ initiative. Whether through marathons, cyclothons, Raahgiri events, or various public awareness programs, we are actively engaging lakhs of young people and citizens in this mass movement,” Saini said.He also spoke about action against drug trafficking in the state, saying illegal assets worth approximately Rs 53 crore had been seized and 111 properties acquired through illicit means had been demolished.What is Har Ghar Tiranga?The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign was launched in 2022 as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. Jharkhand exam stir: Govt to hold fresh talks; health of student leader on fast deteriorates (PTI image) NEW DELHI: The Jharkhand government will hold another round of talks with protesting recruitment exam aspirants on Sunday, as the 16-day agitation continued and the health of student leader Devendra Nath Mahto, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike for nearly a week, deteriorated.The decision to hold a sixth round of talks came after discussions between the government and several student groups over Friday and Saturday failed to break the deadlock.Mahto’s condition suddenly worsened around 3 am on Sunday at Ranchi’s Jaipal Singh Stadium, where students have been protesting since July 25. Doctors recorded his blood glucose level at 53.The government panel is scheduled to meet student representatives at noon on Sunday. The move, however, has drawn criticism from the JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch, which has been leading the agitation.Ravindra Paswan, a leader of the JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch, accused the government of trying to divide the protesting students and divert attention from their demands.”This is political manoeuvring by the government. It is trying to create a divide among students and divert attention. But they should know that all students are united,” Paswan said at a press conference at the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium.Paswan claimed that the Reforms Manch had already presented its demands to the five-member government panel during a detailed meeting on Friday night. He alleged that the government subsequently held separate discussions with other student organisations that had not played a role in the ongoing protest.Govt says talks held in positive atmosphereThe Hemant Soren government held discussions with the JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch on Friday night, followed by four rounds of talks with different student groups on Saturday.The groups included the Congress-backed National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Jharkhand Chhatra Morcha (JCM) and Adivasi Chhatra Sangh (ACS).The government said the discussions were held in a positive atmosphere and that it was examining the concerns raised by the protesting aspirants.The decision to hold another round of talks was taken after the government panel met Chief Minister Hemant Soren for around four hours on Saturday evening.Rural Development Minister Dipika Pandey Singh said the panel briefed the chief minister about the demands raised by different student delegations.”It was decided in the meeting with the chief minister that a final round of talks with the protesting students will take place at 12 pm on Sunday,” she said.Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav said the government would continue discussions with students demanding comprehensive reforms in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).What are students demanding?The protesting students are seeking reforms in the recruitment examination system and action over alleged irregularities in various JPSC and JSSC examinations.The JCM submitted five demands, including cancellation of the 14th JPSC Civil Services Examination.The NSUI submitted six demands, including a CID investigation into all JPSC and JSSC examinations under suspicion within 90 days. It also demanded the establishment of a Jharkhand Testing Agency on the lines of the National Testing Agency.The ACS demanded that tribal and regional languages be included as qualifying papers in recruitment examinations. It also sought cancellation of examinations in which irregularities were found.Higher and Technical Education Minister Sudivya Kumar said the government had also issued an email ID through which aspirants could submit suggestions on reforms to the recruitment process.Protesters threaten Assembly marchDespite the government’s talks with various student groups, protesters have said the agitation will continue until their demands are met.They have announced a march to the Jharkhand Assembly on August 10 if the government fails to address their demands by Sunday.The agitation has also seen the involvement of several student organisations, including the All India Students’ Association (AISA) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).AISA set up a separate platform at the stadium on Saturday, although its leaders said it should not be viewed as a separate agitation.AISA national president Neha Bora, who was attacked with ink during Friday’s Assembly march near Birsa Chowk, briefly joined the protest and raised slogans demanding cancellation of the 14th JPSC and JSSC-CGL examinations.AISA’s Ranchi unit chief Vijay Kumar said the organisation shared the same demands as the larger protest and that its members would join the August 10 march without carrying the AISA banner.The ABVP has also held protests over the issue. Jharkhand exam stir: Govt to hold fresh talks; health of student leader on fast deteriorates (PTI image) NEW DELHI: The Jharkhand government will hold another round of talks with protesting recruitment exam aspirants on Sunday, as the 16-day agitation continued and the health of student leader Devendra Nath Mahto, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike for nearly a week, deteriorated.The decision to hold a sixth round of talks came after discussions between the government and several student groups over Friday and Saturday failed to break the deadlock.Mahto’s condition suddenly worsened around 3 am on Sunday at Ranchi’s Jaipal Singh Stadium, where students have been protesting since July 25. Doctors recorded his blood glucose level at 53.The government panel is scheduled to meet student representatives at noon on Sunday. The move, however, has drawn criticism from the JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch, which has been leading the agitation.Ravindra Paswan, a leader of the JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch, accused the government of trying to divide the protesting students and divert attention from their demands.”This is political manoeuvring by the government. It is trying to create a divide among students and divert attention. But they should know that all students are united,” Paswan said at a press conference at the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium.Paswan claimed that the Reforms Manch had already presented its demands to the five-member government panel during a detailed meeting on Friday night. He alleged that the government subsequently held separate discussions with other student organisations that had not played a role in the ongoing protest.Govt says talks held in positive atmosphereThe Hemant Soren government held discussions with the JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch on Friday night, followed by four rounds of talks with different student groups on Saturday.The groups included the Congress-backed National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Jharkhand Chhatra Morcha (JCM) and Adivasi Chhatra Sangh (ACS).The government said the discussions were held in a positive atmosphere and that it was examining the concerns raised by the protesting aspirants.The decision to hold another round of talks was taken after the government panel met Chief Minister Hemant Soren for around four hours on Saturday evening.Rural Development Minister Dipika Pandey Singh said the panel briefed the chief minister about the demands raised by different student delegations.”It was decided in the meeting with the chief minister that a final round of talks with the protesting students will take place at 12 pm on Sunday,” she said.Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav said the government would continue discussions with students demanding comprehensive reforms in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).What are students demanding?The protesting students are seeking reforms in the recruitment examination system and action over alleged irregularities in various JPSC and JSSC examinations.The JCM submitted five demands, including cancellation of the 14th JPSC Civil Services Examination.The NSUI submitted six demands, including a CID investigation into all JPSC and JSSC examinations under suspicion within 90 days. It also demanded the establishment of a Jharkhand Testing Agency on the lines of the National Testing Agency.The ACS demanded that tribal and regional languages be included as qualifying papers in recruitment examinations. It also sought cancellation of examinations in which irregularities were found.Higher and Technical Education Minister Sudivya Kumar said the government had also issued an email ID through which aspirants could submit suggestions on reforms to the recruitment process.Protesters threaten Assembly marchDespite the government’s talks with various student groups, protesters have said the agitation will continue until their demands are met.They have announced a march to the Jharkhand Assembly on August 10 if the government fails to address their demands by Sunday.The agitation has also seen the involvement of several student organisations, including the All India Students’ Association (AISA) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).AISA set up a separate platform at the stadium on Saturday, although its leaders said it should not be viewed as a separate agitation.AISA national president Neha Bora, who was attacked with ink during Friday’s Assembly march near Birsa Chowk, briefly joined the protest and raised slogans demanding cancellation of the 14th JPSC and JSSC-CGL examinations.AISA’s Ranchi unit chief Vijay Kumar said the organisation shared the same demands as the larger protest and that its members would join the August 10 march without carrying the AISA banner.The ABVP has also held protests over the issue.
