Sunita Ahuja says son Yashvardhan has Amitabh Bachchan’s personality and Dharmendra’s looks: ‘I only looked at their photos’
As Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s son Yashvardhan Ahuja gears up for his Bollywood debut, his mother has shared an interesting anecdote about her pregnancy and the hopes she had for her child.Speaking to Mashable India, Sunita revealed that during her pregnancy, she would often look at photographs of two of Hindi cinema’s biggest legends — Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra. She now believes her son has inherited qualities reminiscent of both stars.
‘Yashvardhan has Amit ji’s personality and Dharam ji’s looks’
Recalling the period when she was expecting Yashvardhan, Sunita said Amitabh Bachchan has always been her favourite actor.“Mere fav hero hain voh. Mera beta jab pet main tha toh maine do hi logon ka photo dekha tha, ek Dharam ji, Amit ji. Yashvardhan ka personality Amit ji jaise hogaya hai aur shakal Dharam ji jaisi, I am so happy,” she said.(He is my favourite hero. When my son was in my womb, I only looked at the photos of Dharam ji and Amit ji. Yashvardhan has developed a personality like Amit ji and looks like Dharam ji. I am so happy. )
Sunita recalls old pregnancy beliefs
Sunita also spoke about traditional beliefs that were widely followed during pregnancy in earlier times.“We were told to watch Ramayana because the child listens while in the mother’s womb. So my mother used to put Ramayana on TV whenever there was an eclipse. But today’s kids won’t listen to all of this,” she said.
Yashvardhan Ahuja’s Bollywood debut
According to reports, Yashvardhan is set to make his acting debut with filmmaker Sajid Khan’s upcoming film, tentatively titled 100. The project reportedly also stars Nitanshi Goel and has already gone on floors.Reports claimed that the makers began shooting the film in Mumbai’s Film City on January 23, choosing the date to coincide with the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami. The film is also expected to mark Sajid Khan’s return to direction.
More than 90 auditions before landing his first film
Sunita recently revealed that despite being the son of one of Bollywood’s most popular stars, Yashvardhan did not have an easy path into the industry. According to her, he went through more than 90 auditions before securing his debut project.Before stepping in front of the camera, Yashvardhan gained experience behind the scenes, working as an assistant director on films such as Dishoom and Baaghi.He also grabbed attention recently when a video of him dancing with Rasha Thadani to Govinda’s hit song Aankhiyon Se Goli Maare went viral on social media. The clip earned praise from viewers, many of whom lauded his expressions and dancing skills, drawing inevitable comparisons with his famous father.
