UGC NET 2026 June admit card to be released soon

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the admit card for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2026 session shortly on its official website. Once released, registered candidates will be able to download their hall tickets by visiting ugcnet.nta.ac.in.The UGC NET June 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted from June 22 to June 30 in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode at examination centres across the country, according to the official notification. Candidates must carry their admit card along with a valid photo identity proof to the examination centre on the day of the test.The admit card will contain important details such as the candidate’s name, application number, examination date, shift timing, reporting time, examination centre address, and other instructions to be followed on exam day.

How to download UGC NET June 2026 admit card

Candidates can follow these steps to access their hall tickets once they are released:

  • Visit the official website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
  • Click on the UGC NET June 2026 admit card link available on the homepage.
  • Enter the required login credentials, such as application number and date of birth.
  • Submit the details.
  • The admit card will appear on the screen.
  • Download and print a copy for future use.

NTA recently added new exam cities in North-East

Ahead of the examination, NTA expanded the list of examination centres in the North-Eastern region to help candidates facing limited centre availability.Four new exam cities have been added:

  • Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh
  • Kakching, Manipur
  • Bishnupur, Manipur
  • Cherrapunji, Meghalaya

The agency had also allowed candidates to choose these newly added cities through the application correction facility.In addition, candidates from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura were permitted to select examination centres located in neighbouring North-Eastern states.

Two new subjects introduced this year

UGC has introduced two additional subjects — Forestry and Statistics — in the UGC NET June 2026 cycle. With the addition of these subjects, the examination will now be conducted for a total of 87 subjects.

UGC NET is a national-level examination conducted by NTA on behalf of UGC to determine the eligibility of candidates for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes in universities and colleges across India.The examination is usually held twice every year, in June and December.
