Anushka Sharma credits homeopathy for influencing her health journey
Sharing the video on social media, Anushka spoke about the role homeopathy has played in her life and praised Dr. Rajan Sankaran’s approach to health and wellness.“Homeopathy played an important role in my life and Dr Rajan Sankaran has been a key part of that journey. I deeply value his insights on health and mindful living,” she wrote. The video focused on homeopathy’s place in modern healthcare and advocated for collaboration between different medical systems rather than competition.
Rajan Sankaran calls for integrated medicine
During the discussion, Rajan Sankaran argued that homeopathy should be viewed as part of a broader healthcare ecosystem and acknowledged that no medical system is without limitations.“Homeopathy doesn’t treat conditions, it treats people. By treating people it heals them. By healing the human, their pathology also heals. Homeopathy can treat everybody. But can it cure everybody? Like every system it has limitations,” he said.He further stated that patients suffering from conditions such as multiple sclerosis, allergies, and eczema are sometimes referred for homeopathic treatment and stressed the importance of integrated medicine.“We are living in an era of integrated medicine. We are not here to prove the superiority or inferiority. It’s not either-or anymore. We need to know the strengths and limitations of each system,” he added.
The Liver Doc criticises the post
The video drew a sharp response from hepatologist Cyriac Abby Philips, popularly known online as The Liver Doc, who has long been a vocal critic of homeopathy.Reacting to the post, he took aim at Rajan Sankaran, Namita Thapar, and Anushka Sharma, referring to them as a “triangle of shame.”“Supplement Seller – Legalized Quack – Illiterate Celeb,” he wrote in a strongly worded post. The doctor also reiterated his criticism of homeopathy, arguing that its remedies do not contain active medicinal ingredients.“Homeopathy is ‘medicine’ made of water, alcohol, and sugar. So you’re paying premium prices for fancy sugar pills containing precisely no medicine at all,” he wrote.Anushka Sharma’s endorsement has once again brought the long-running debate over homeopathy into the spotlight. While supporters argue that homeopathy has helped many patients and should be considered alongside other forms of treatment, critics maintain that its claims are not supported by robust scientific evidence.
