As per a recent report from Deadline, ‘The Housemaid’s Secret’ is being pre-sold at the famed Cannes Film Market. As for the budget, the team is set to double the amount of the previous film. The rough estimate for this film stands to be around the USD 70 to USD 80 million range.As per the report, the studio is also quickly moving towards starting the film’s production, with filming to possibly begin by the end of this year only.
What is ‘The Housemaid’s Secret’ going to be about
A high-positioned executive from the studio, Helen Lee Kim, opened up about what fans can expect from the upcoming film. She gave a statement explaining the same. She cited that “It’s an expansion of the world from the first film. The second book is even twistier, and it’ll be a more unexpected movie. It’ll be structured a little differently. We’re aiming to be filming by year’s end. The whole creative team is back, as are Sydney [Sweeney] and Michele Morrone, who has a bigger role in the second film. Kirsten [Dunst] is aboard, and then we have two other fun male roles that we’re casting now.”The film will expand more on the story and will be based on the second novel in author Freida McFadden’s ‘The Housemaid’ book series. As for the locations, the film is set to broaden its perspective and will be set up in a New York penthouse, along with an upstate residence. The film will also focus on other elements of the city as well.Sydney Sweeney, Kirsten Dunst, and Michele Morrone have been confirmed to lead the film this time, with more cast members awaiting announcements.
