‘Kevin Hart Roast ’ writer reveals the Melania Trump joke that was cut
According to Variety, one of the first roasters, Tony Hinchcliffe, was meant to be the subject of the joke involving Melania Trump. The line that was ultimately removed from the show read: “Tony is like Melania: The only thing relevant about him is that he opened for Trump once.”The jab reportedly referenced Hinchcliffe’s controversial remarks about Puerto Rico during Donald Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally. Writer Madison Sinclair later shared details about the roast, though it remains unclear why the joke was cut from the final version. While that joke did not make the broadcast, Pete Davidson’s sharp dig comparing the comedian to Charlie Kirk was retained. Roasting Tony, Davidson quipped, “Tony reminds me of Charlie Kirk, in that he’s definitely been on camera letting a guy unload in his throat.”
