Puducherry assembly election results 2026 NEW DELHI: The Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) of Congress and DMK is set to fell short in its bid to form the government in Puducherry, as counting for the April 9 assembly elections was held on Monday. Despite a record voter turnout of 89.87% across the Union territory’s 30 constituencies, SPA candidates are currently leading only on three seats, while the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set to become Puducherry’s first incumbent government to be re-elected since the Congress in 2006. This marks a setback for the SPA, which had hoped to return to power but was outperformed by the NDA led by chief Minister N Rangasamy of the All India NR Congress, a former Congress leader. Under their arrangement, the grand old party contested 16 seats, with the Dravidian party fielded candidates in 13 constituencies.`ConstituencySPA candidateStatusMannadipetTPR Selvame (Congress)LostThirubuvanaiP Angalane (DMK)TrailingOussuduP Karthikeyan (Congress)WonMangalamSS Rangan (DMK)/K Ragubady (Congress) – friendly fightCounting in progressVillianurR Siva (DMK)LostOzhukaraiM Sivasankar (Congress)Counting in progressKadirkamamAPR Vadivel (DMK)LostIndira NagarN Rajakumar (Congress)Counting in progressThattanchavadyVe Vaithilingam (Congress)LostKamaraj NagarPK Devadoss (Congress)TrailingLawspetM Vaithianathan (Congress)LostKalapetA Senthil Ramesh (DMK)TrailingMuthialpetEeram G Rajendran (Congress)LostRaj BhavanVignesh Kannan (DMK)TrailingOupalamAnnibal Kennedy (DMK)LostOrleampethS Gopal (DMK)TrailingNellithopeV Cartigueyane (DMK)WonMudaliarpetL Sambath (DMK)TrailingAriankuppamViazayalakshmy Djeamourthy (Congress)LostManavelyRK Anantharaman (Congress)TrailingEmbalamM Candassamy (Congress)LostNettapakkamG Anbarasan (Congress)LostBahourR Senthil Kumar (DMK)LeadingNedungaduDinesh Kumar (Congress)LostThirunallarR Kamalkannan (Congress)Counting in progressKaraikal North AM Ranjith (Congress)LostKaraikal SouthAVS Sakthivel Prabu (Congress)Counting in progressNeravy TR PattinamM Nagathiyagarajan (DMK)LostMaheRamesh Parambath (Congress)LostYanamGollapalli Srinivas Ashok (Congress)LostFollow the latest election results 2026, live updates, winner lists, constituency-wise results, party-wise trends and full coverage for Tamil Nadu election results, West Bengal election results, Kerala election results, Assam election results and Puducherry election results results on Times of India.About the AuthorTOI News DeskThe TOI News Desk comprises a dedicated and tireless team of journalists who operate around the clock to deliver the most current and comprehensive news and updates to the readers of The Times of India worldwide.
