The Bihar School Examination Board has released the date sheet for the Secondary Special Examination and Secondary Compartmental Examination 2026. Students who did not pass the regular matric (Class 10) exam or those who want to improve their marks can appear for these exams.According to the official schedule, the theory exams will be held from May 2 to May 6, 2026. The examinations will be conducted in two shifts each day. The first shift will be from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm, while the second shift will be from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. However, the duration may vary slightly for some subjects.Before the theory exams, the practical examinations for relevant subjects and vocational trades will be conducted on April 29 and April 30, 2026.

BSEB Matric Special, Compartment exam 2026: Important instructions

The board has also released important guidelines for students appearing in the exams:

  • Students will get 15 minutes as reading time before the exam begins in each shift.
  • Visually impaired and differently-abled (spastic) candidates will be allowed to use a scribe. They will also get an extra 20 minutes per hour during the examination.
  • Entry to the examination centre will close 30 minutes before the start of each shift.
  • Entry will close at 9 am for the first shift and 1:30 pm for the second shift.
  • Late entry will not be allowed under any circumstances.

The board has also directed schools to submit internal assessment marks for Science and Social Science literacy or project work to the District Education Officer by May 4, 2026.Students are advised to check the complete timetable carefully and follow all instructions issued by the board to avoid any issues during the examination.
