US-Israel-Iran War Live Updates: Iran launches ‘massive missile’ strike at US airbase in Bahrain; Israel bombs Beirut

US President Donald Trump says the strikes on Iran were meant to eliminate a threat, but how he expects the conflict to end remains unclear. NEW DELHI: After condemning the attacks on the UAE, PM Narendra Modi spoke to the leaders of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain Monday to condemn the military strikes by Iran in these countries too, signalling deep disapproval of Tehran’s indiscriminate targetting of Gulf countries even though he didn’t name Iran. In the wee hours on Monday, the PM had spoken to his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu to stress the need for an early cessation of hostilities. The West Asia situation came up in his meeting with Canadian PM Mark Carney too, with Modi saying in his media remarks later that India will continue to work with countries to protect all Indian citizens in this region. The PM, who also spoke to Jordan’s King Abdullah II to convey India’s concerns and express solidarity, discussed the well-being of Indian community in all his conversations, as concerns about their safety were exacerbated over reports of first Indian casualty in an attack on an oil tanker off Oman’s coast. We have always called for peace and tranquillity. And when two democracies stand together, the voice of peace becomes even stronger,” said Modi, after his meeting with Carney, adding that the West Asia situation was a matter of deep concern to India. In his talks with Netanyahu, Modi conveyed India’s concerns over recent developments and emphasised the safety of civilians as a priority. The Israeli PM was quoted by news channels as saying he thanked Modi for standing with Israel. “India condemns the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia in violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. We agreed that earliest restoration of regional peace and stability is of utmost importance. I thanked him for looking after the well-being of the Indian community in these difficult times,” said Modi in a post on X, after his talks with Saudi Crown Prince and PM Mohammed bin Salman. Modi also condemned the attacks on Bahrain saying India stood in solidarity with its people in this difficult hour. He thanked both leaders for looking after the Indian community. Modi’s condemnation of the Iranian attacks, after the initial response by India on Saturday that was restricted to calling upon all to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states, is a reflection of the fact that India’s strategic interests are aligned more with the GCC countries than with Iran. India has so far neither condemned the attacks on Iran nor expressed condolences over the killing of its supreme leader Ali Khamenei. For India, it’s imperative to work with the Gulf countries to ensure the well-being of a nearly 10-million strong diaspora, a major source of remittances, and also to ensure its energy security. Connectivity, defence, maritime security and supply chain resilience are other areas where India is working closely with the Gulf countries. Modi has himself led the outreach to the Gulf that has resulted in deepening ties with the region in the past decade, outpacing its relations with others. External affairs minister too had spoken to his counterparts from all 6 GCC countries after the war broke out on Saturday, expressing concern and highlighting India’s stakes in regional stability and the welfare of the Indian community. However, he had not condemned the attacks.End of ArticleFollow Us On Social MediaVideosTMC Calls Out BJP on Fiscal Fairness and State Autonomy: ‘YOU ARE TAKING TAXES FROM BENGAL…’PM Modi Speaks To Saudi Crown Prince And Bahrain King, Condemns Iranian AttacksMamata Banerjee Vows Bengal Poll Win Despite Voter Deletions, Abhishek Claims BJP Won’t Pass 50 SeatsUS-ISRAEL-IRAN WAR: How Will It Impact India’s Oil, Trade & Air Travel| EXPLAINED‘Not for the People’: Shah Accuses Mamata of Pushing Dynasty PoliticsStill Reeling From India’s Strikes, Pakistan’s Nur Khan Air Base Hit Again By Taliban DronesUN Rights Chief Praises India’s Civil Society And Condemns Human Rights Abuses In Pakistan And ChinaKhomeini’s Indian Connection: Ahmad Hindi, Barabanki, and the Legacy Behind Iran’s First Supreme LeaderPM Modi Uses T20 Cricket Analogy For India-Canada Partnership At CEO Forum, Carney Smiles’Arise, Awake, And Stop Not’: Canada PM Carney Quotes Vivekananda To Announce India-Canada Tie Reset123Photostories7 indoor plants perfect for small spaces3/3 Total Lunar Eclipse: Timings in India, spiritual meaning and 6 things to do tonight instead of scrolling before bed5 silver jewellery investments every woman needs right nowHoli Special: How to make Kathal Ki Sabzi at homeExclusive: The 50s Monalisa opens up on feeling sidelined by TV actors, hits back at Rajat Dalal and reacts to plastic surgery remarks about Nikki TamboliTop 5 Harrison Ford films to watch on OTT: ‘What Lies Beneath’, ‘The Age of Adaline’ and ‘Air Force One’10 black-coloured foods and why you should eat more of themAll eyes are on stylish newlyweds Rashmika Mandanna-Vijay Deverakonda as they join Allu Arjun at Sirish’s pre-wedding soiréeZendaya & Tom Holland; Billy Crudup & Naomi Watts: Celebs who secretly tied the knot away from the spotlightUS-Israel attack on Iran: Khamenei’s death, Iran’s retaliation and military arsenals in action- in pics123Hot PicksIran droneSaudi AramcoGold rate todayDubai airportIncome Tax CalculatorPublic holidays March 2026Bank Holidays MarchTop TrendingNBA Injury UpdateUS Israel Strike IranUS Attack on IranCBSE postpones Class 10 and 12 board examsUS F15 DownLucknow crime newsMiddle East CrisisIsrael Iran ConflictICAI CA Final Result JanuarySchool Holiday in March

NEW DELHI: The dramatic turnaround in India-Canada relations in the past 10 months culminated in a series of major announcements and agreements, including a landmark .6 billion deal for supply of 22 million pounds of uranium to India from 2027 to 2035, on Monday as PM Narendra Modi hosted his counterpart Mark Carney for talks here. The leaders committed to conclusion of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) by the end of this year, with the two sides finalising the terms of reference and announcing agreements to intensify cooperation on critical minerals while also launching a new strategic energy partnership and defence dialogue. PM Modi, Carney Usher Reset In India-Canada Ties, Declare Landmark Uranium, Critical Minerals Deal Transforming economies to be more diversified: Carney The two sides discussed each other’s security concerns — activities of separatists in India’s case and transnational repression for Canada — but the leaders avoided any explicit mention of these issues in their media remarks, having endorsed in the meeting ongoing security cooperation and a focus on consolidating the relationship.Israel attacks IranUS F-15 down in Kuwait? The Canadian PM responded by saying that this wasn’t just a renewal of the relationship but also an expansion of the partnership as India and Canada were transforming their economies to be more diversified, more independent and more resilient. However, the ministry of external affairs (MEA) later rejected allegations of involvement in transnational violence or organised crime as reported in the Canadian media, saying these claims were baseless, politically motivated and “unsupported by credible evidence despite repeated requests”. “India believes that concerns of this nature must be addressed through credible law enforcement and judicial processes, not through public or politicised narratives,” said MEA secretary (east) P Kumaran. The official was responding to questions related to reports in the Canadian media linking Indian officials in Vancouver to the killing of Sikh separatist Hardeep Nijjar and a Canadian readout of the Modi-Carney meeting that said Canada will continue to take measures to combat transnational repression. According to the Canadian readout, the leaders agreed to advance bilateral cooperation on security and law enforcement, including issues of mutual concern to Canada and India.Modi said the forward movement in ties was being powered by both sides’ unbreakable trust in democratic values, diversity and humanity, and the goal was to reach billion in annual trade by 2030. The Canadian side said CEPA could lead to billion of trade in the next five years. While eight agreements/MoUs were signed at the govt level, there were 24 other agreements or partnerships that were announced among universities and institutions in areas such as AI, healthcare, agriculture and innovation. An MoU was also signed under the Australia-Canada-India Technology and Innovation Partnership for development and deployment of AI.“It is our priority to unlock the full potential of economic cooperation. Therefore, we have decided to finalise the CEPA as soon as possible. This will create new opportunities for investment and employment in both countries,” said Modi. “With Canada and India as innovation partners, we will turn ideas into global solutions,” the PM said, highlighting that the MoU on critical minerals will also strengthen supply chain resilience. While Carney didn’t touch upon the issue of terrorism, Modi said that they agreed that terrorism, extremism and radicalisation were shared and serious challenges not only for both countries but for all of humanity.End of ArticleFollow Us On Social MediaVideosTMC Calls Out BJP on Fiscal Fairness and State Autonomy: ‘YOU ARE TAKING TAXES FROM BENGAL…’PM Modi Speaks To Saudi Crown Prince And Bahrain King, Condemns Iranian AttacksMamata Banerjee Vows Bengal Poll Win Despite Voter Deletions, Abhishek Claims BJP Won’t Pass 50 SeatsUS-ISRAEL-IRAN WAR: How Will It Impact India’s Oil, Trade & Air Travel| EXPLAINED‘Not for the People’: Shah Accuses Mamata of Pushing Dynasty PoliticsStill Reeling From India’s Strikes, Pakistan’s Nur Khan Air Base Hit Again By Taliban DronesUN Rights Chief Praises India’s Civil Society And Condemns Human Rights Abuses In Pakistan And ChinaKhomeini’s Indian Connection: Ahmad Hindi, Barabanki, and the Legacy Behind Iran’s First Supreme LeaderPM Modi Uses T20 Cricket Analogy For India-Canada Partnership At CEO Forum, Carney Smiles’Arise, Awake, And Stop Not’: Canada PM Carney Quotes Vivekananda To Announce India-Canada Tie Reset123Photostories7 indoor plants perfect for small spaces3/3 Total Lunar Eclipse: Timings in India, spiritual meaning and 6 things to do tonight instead of scrolling before bed5 silver jewellery investments every woman needs right nowHoli Special: How to make Kathal Ki Sabzi at homeExclusive: The 50s Monalisa opens up on feeling sidelined by TV actors, hits back at Rajat Dalal and reacts to plastic surgery remarks about Nikki TamboliTop 5 Harrison Ford films to watch on OTT: ‘What Lies Beneath’, ‘The Age of Adaline’ and ‘Air Force One’10 black-coloured foods and why you should eat more of themAll eyes are on stylish newlyweds Rashmika Mandanna-Vijay Deverakonda as they join Allu Arjun at Sirish’s pre-wedding soiréeZendaya & Tom Holland; Billy Crudup & Naomi Watts: Celebs who secretly tied the knot away from the spotlightUS-Israel attack on Iran: Khamenei’s death, Iran’s retaliation and military arsenals in action- in pics123Hot PicksIran droneSaudi AramcoGold rate todayDubai airportIncome Tax CalculatorPublic holidays March 2026Bank Holidays MarchTop TrendingNBA Injury UpdateUS Israel Strike IranUS Attack on IranCBSE postpones Class 10 and 12 board examsUS F15 DownLucknow crime newsMiddle East CrisisIsrael Iran ConflictICAI CA Final Result JanuarySchool Holiday in March
