Fugitive Anmol Bishnoi, wanted for the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, has been deported from the US and is reportedly en route to India. The NIA is coordinating his return, with Zeeshan Siddique confirming official notification of Bishnoi’s “removal” from the United States. NEW DELHI/MUMBAI: Fugitive Anmol Bishnoi, who is wanted for the murder of NCP neta Baba Siddique, has been deported from the US. Though there was no official confirmation, sources said that he was already en route to India late on Tuesday and was likely to land in Delhi around 10am on Wednesday. The NIA is coordinating the deportation.Anmol may be one of the passengers of a special chartered flight carrying around 200 ‘illegals’, a source said, adding two other wanted fugitives from Punjab may also be on the flight. Confirming his deportation, Zeeshan, son of late Baba Siddique, told TOI he got an official notification from US Department of Homeland Security through email, informing him that Anmol had been “removed” from the US. The email was sent to him through DHS-VINE, a confidential web-based system that provides notifications to registrants who have been affected by crimes committed by an illegal immigrant in US custody.Anmol Bishnoi wanted for murders, extortion With no communication from US authorities to Mumbai police about his whereabouts, Zeeshan Siddiquie had sought information from US officials. The email from the Department of Homeland Security sent to Zeeshan Siddiqui and shared with TOI said, “This email is to inform you ANMOL BISHNOI has been removed from the United States by the federal government. The offender was removed on Nov 18, 2025.”Anmol was held in Sacramento last Nov for illegal entry after which the FBI had confirmed his identity through a DNA and voice sample match. He had sought asylum there while he was lodged at the Pottawattamie County prison in Iowa. The prison facility’s website, accessed by TOI at the time, had his details uploaded and mentioned his name as Anmol Bishnoi. It said he was being investigated by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), which deals with cross-border crime and undocumented immigration in the US.It was the firing incident at actor Salman Khan’s house in April last year that had put Anmol under spotlight. A facebook account, purportedly of Anmol, had in April last year claimed responsibility for the shooting. Subsequently, cops chanced upon an audio recording of a conversation purportedly between Anmol and Vicky Gupta, one of the shooters involved in the incident . Subsequently, Baba Siddique was shot dead on Oct 12 last year outside the Bandra (East) office of his MLA son, Zeeshan. Anmol was named in the chargesheet filed by Mumbai police in this case. Anmol was also accused of providing arms and logistical support to the shooters of Sidhu Moosewala, who was killed on May 29, 2022. Anmol had left the country on a forged passport in the name of Bhanu Pratap in April 2024, a month before the Punjabi singer was targeted. He had since been living in California along with his associates Goldy Brar and others. In Oct 2024, National Investigation Agency had announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh on Anmol, shortly after his alleged role in Siddiquie’s murder. Mumbai police had subsequently approached a court to initiate the process for Anmol’s extradition and also sent a communication to the MEA through MHA. Anmol’s notoriety extends to a litany of crimes, with a staggering 18 cases registered against him for a range of offences, including extortion. A resident of Fazilka in Punjab, Anmol is named in two chargesheets filed by NIA in cases registered in 2022. Last year, NIA had filed a chargesheet against a dozen individuals, including Lawrence and Anmol. The chargesheet alleged the accused were part of a larger conspiracy aimed at unleashing a reign of terror and carrying out targeted assassinations of prominent social and religious leaders, film personalities, singers, and businessmen.About the AuthorRaj Shekhar JhaRaj Shekhar Jha is a journalist for the Times of India with over a decade of experience in reporting on national security, terrorism, crime and prisons.End of ArticleFollow Us On Social MediaVideosAnmol Bishnoi, Accused In Baba Siddique Murder Case, To Be Deported To India From USIndia-Russia Ties: EAM Jaishankar Meets President Putin In Moscow’Some Last-Mile Issues…’: Piyush Goyal Remarks On Trade Pact With EU And US, India’s Export GrowthThe Ghost Of Bastar Falls: What Madvi Hidma’s Death Means For India’s War Against Maoist InsurgencyBathani Tola: 30 years on, justice still elusive for Bihar’s worst caste massacreShashi Tharoor Praises PM Modi Again, Sparks Fresh Congress Rift After Attending Goenka Lecture’I Did Not Say…’: Prashant Kishor Takes U-Turn On Vow To Quit Politics If JDU Wins Bihar PollsIndia Will Sign Trade Deal Only When It Is ‘Fair, Equitable And Balanced’: Piyush GoyalNarayana Murthy Sparks Fresh Storm By Urging to Adopt China’s 996 Model, Work 72 Hours Every WeekIran Halts Visa Waiver For Indians Amid Criminal Exploitation And MEA Safety Warning Alerts123PhotostoriesKiara Advani packs a lineup of must-see Bollywood hits you should watch right away8 underrated South Indian rice dishes perfect for a light and healthy dinner5 animals that can survivein extremely cold temperatures6 lower ab workouts to strengthen your coreThis Guava Paneer Avocado Salad has 25 gms protein and why it needs a place in daily breakfast5 natural home remedies to detoxify the liverChia seeds in water vs chia seeds in milk: Which is more beneficial for healthFrom teeth-brushing battles to screen time: Kareena Kapoor Khan’s honest parenting tales7 Japanese techniques to overcome laziness and boost productivity in life10 date ideas in New York City that are not drinking or movies123Hot PicksDelhi AQI TodaySheikh Hasina VerdictBihar Government FormationGold rate todaySilver rate todayPublic Holidays NovemberBank Holidays NovemberTop TrendingAaron Rodgers InjuryShedeur SandersPaolo BancheroStephen CurryPatrick BeverleyLeBron JamesStephen A SmithCade CunninghamDraymond GreenSophie Cunningham

NEW DELHI: Railways on Tuesday unveiled policies for new bulk cement terminals and rate rationalisation for bulk transporation, which is likely to reduce the cost of the construction material. Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said reduction in cost of cement will benefit both the manufacturers as well as consumers looking to own affordable houses. Moreover, the cleaner, faster and door-to-door delivery of bulk cement will give a fillip to the construction industry and transportation costs will reduce by 30%. Railway board chairman said the movement of cement without first packing them in bags will reduce air pollution as well.According to the scheme, the cement transportation cost has been made uniform at a flat rate of 90 paisa per tonne per km. It will also promote tank containers – a new type of wagons – in which bulk cement can be filled and transported to any location for consumption.”This new innovation will make environmentally clean transportation at a significantly reduced cost as cement bags will not be used,” Vaishnaw said.Railways will facilitate setting up of bulk cement terminals across the country as transportation of bulk cement from plant to the terminals near consumption centres is cost effective and environment friendly.End of ArticleFollow Us On Social MediaVideosAnmol Bishnoi, Accused In Baba Siddique Murder Case, To Be Deported To India From USIndia-Russia Ties: EAM Jaishankar Meets President Putin In Moscow’Some Last-Mile Issues…’: Piyush Goyal Remarks On Trade Pact With EU And US, India’s Export GrowthThe Ghost Of Bastar Falls: What Madvi Hidma’s Death Means For India’s War Against Maoist InsurgencyBathani Tola: 30 years on, justice still elusive for Bihar’s worst caste massacreShashi Tharoor Praises PM Modi Again, Sparks Fresh Congress Rift After Attending Goenka Lecture’I Did Not Say…’: Prashant Kishor Takes U-Turn On Vow To Quit Politics If JDU Wins Bihar PollsIndia Will Sign Trade Deal Only When It Is ‘Fair, Equitable And Balanced’: Piyush GoyalNarayana Murthy Sparks Fresh Storm By Urging to Adopt China’s 996 Model, Work 72 Hours Every WeekIran Halts Visa Waiver For Indians Amid Criminal Exploitation And MEA Safety Warning Alerts123Photostories8 underrated South Indian rice dishes perfect for a light and healthy dinner5 animals that can survivein extremely cold temperatures6 lower ab workouts to strengthen your coreThis Guava Paneer Avocado Salad has 25 gms protein and why it needs a place in daily breakfast5 natural home remedies to detoxify the liverChia seeds in water vs chia seeds in milk: Which is more beneficial for healthFrom teeth-brushing battles to screen time: Kareena Kapoor Khan’s honest parenting tales7 Japanese techniques to overcome laziness and boost productivity in life10 date ideas in New York City that are not drinking or movies‘Dhurandhar’s Sara Arjun to Ananya Panday: 5 best celeb outfits of the day123Hot PicksDelhi AQI TodaySheikh Hasina VerdictBihar Government FormationGold rate todaySilver rate todayPublic Holidays NovemberBank Holidays NovemberTop TrendingAaron Rodgers InjuryShedeur SandersPaolo BancheroStephen CurryPatrick BeverleyLeBron JamesStephen A SmithCade CunninghamDraymond GreenSophie Cunningham

NEW DELHI: India’s first bullet train will now cover a 100-km distance between Surat and Vapi in Gujarat during its inaugural run in August 2027, railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Tuesday. He added that once the entire Ahmadabad-Mumbai bullet train corridor is operational, the train will cover the stretch in less than two hours. The announcements came barely days after PM Narendra Modi visited Surat station.Earlier, Vaishnaw had said that the inaugural run would be on a 50 km stretch between Surat and Billimore. The minister’s new statement is being seen as an indication of the increased pace of progress.Vaishnaw told reporters, “The bullet train will cover the distance between Mumbai and Ahmedabad in one-hour-and-58 minutes while stopping at four stations. However, if it stops at all 12 stations, the entire distance will be covered in 2 hours and 17 minutes.” The entire project is likely to be completed in 2029.Despite the new commitment to the bullet train’s inaugural run, there is a lack of clarity on whether a Japanese Shinkansen or Indian made high speed train will operate on its first run.The country’s first 508-km long high-speed rail corridor is being constructed between Sabarmati (Ahmedabad) and Mumbai to operate a bullet train at 320 kmph. The foundation stone for the project was laid in 2017 and was initially planned to be ready by Dec 2023. However, land acquisition, forest clearance and other issues delayed the project. On Modi’s recent visit, the minister said the PM was happy with the pace of progress. “He said that whatever we have learnt from the project must be used elsewhere, not only in railways and other high speed projects, but in other different sectors as well. We have done one innovation after the other in this project. It is a complex project and the biggest challenge was its design,” Vaishnaw said.End of ArticleFollow Us On Social MediaVideosAnmol Bishnoi, Accused In Baba Siddique Murder Case, To Be Deported To India From USIndia-Russia Ties: EAM Jaishankar Meets President Putin In Moscow’Some Last-Mile Issues…’: Piyush Goyal Remarks On Trade Pact With EU And US, India’s Export GrowthThe Ghost Of Bastar Falls: What Madvi Hidma’s Death Means For India’s War Against Maoist InsurgencyBathani Tola: 30 years on, justice still elusive for Bihar’s worst caste massacreShashi Tharoor Praises PM Modi Again, Sparks Fresh Congress Rift After Attending Goenka Lecture’I Did Not Say…’: Prashant Kishor Takes U-Turn On Vow To Quit Politics If JDU Wins Bihar PollsIndia Will Sign Trade Deal Only When It Is ‘Fair, Equitable And Balanced’: Piyush GoyalNarayana Murthy Sparks Fresh Storm By Urging to Adopt China’s 996 Model, Work 72 Hours Every WeekIran Halts Visa Waiver For Indians Amid Criminal Exploitation And MEA Safety Warning Alerts123Photostories8 underrated South Indian rice dishes perfect for a light and healthy dinner5 animals that can survivein extremely cold temperatures6 lower ab workouts to strengthen your coreThis Guava Paneer Avocado Salad has 25 gms protein and why it needs a place in daily breakfast5 natural home remedies to detoxify the liverChia seeds in water vs chia seeds in milk: Which is more beneficial for healthFrom teeth-brushing battles to screen time: Kareena Kapoor Khan’s honest parenting tales7 Japanese techniques to overcome laziness and boost productivity in life10 date ideas in New York City that are not drinking or movies‘Dhurandhar’s Sara Arjun to Ananya Panday: 5 best celeb outfits of the day123Hot PicksDelhi AQI TodaySheikh Hasina VerdictBihar Government FormationGold rate todaySilver rate todayPublic Holidays NovemberBank Holidays NovemberTop TrendingDak Prescott FianceSophie CunninghamJake Paul GirlfriendKevin DurantBecky LynchDetroit Tigers WifeAuston MatthewsGiannis AntetokounmpoMichael PhelpsWho is Ella Hakkinen
