After weeks of filming at various locations in Mumbai, the team is entering its final schedule. Mid-day reports that the production has erected a sprawling set at Mehboob Studios in Bandra for the eight-day shoot. The song is designed as a big, celebratory closer, capturing the film’s vibrant, comic tone while giving Varun a full-fledged dance showcase in an elaborate carnival atmosphere.
Before the cameras roll on the number, Varun is putting in long rehearsal hours. Choreographer Vijay Ganguly has mapped out long takes with rapid transitions. In the song, Varun will be moving across different zones, a bridge, a rotating platform, and more in the multi-level set-up. One specially designed section will see the actor slip into a humorous performance, a comedic bit that is a hat-tip to Govinda’s dance moves, tying back to the classic Bollywood comedy energy that David Dhawan is known for.
Varun and Vijay’s high-energy collaboration
The track also marks a new professional pairing. This is Varun Dhawan’s first collaboration with Vijay Ganguly, even though the choreographer is no stranger to chartbusters, having previously crafted hits like ‘Chaka Chak’, ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ and ‘Galti Se Mistake’. Varun has reportedly been rehearsing at Mehboob Studios, particularly for a demanding sequence that sees him match steps with 60 background dancers, promising a visually packed and rhythm-heavy spectacle.Once this song is filmed, it will be a wrap on the comedy, which is the fourth collaboration between Varun and his father, David Dhawan. The film also features Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur, with the grand end-credit number aiming to send audiences out of theaters on a high-energy note.
