NEW DELHI: Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing on a plea challenging the preventive detention of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk to March 17. The petition filed by his wife has been listed 24 times over the last five months, but the hearing has remained inconclusive. The activist was taken under preventive detention on Sep 26 amid violence in Lad-akh. His wife, Gitanjali Angmo immediately moved SC, which took up her case for the first time on Oct 6 last year, issuing a notice on her petition.A bench of Justices Aravind Kumar and P B Varale said it would not be adjourned on the next date of hearing and govt would be allowed to respond to only those aspects of the case that had not been dealt with.
